As Sitara Bird states in her blog featuring Manakai's ethical swimwear, "now that I know, I can't un-know."

As a full-time yoga teacher, Sitara practically lives in stretch fabrics.  Upon learning that the fashion industry extracts approximately 70 million barrels of crude oil per year for that fabric, she became inspired to make conscious choices when making her purchases.  With the fashion industry being one of the top pollutants in the world it is up to us to make a change.

Sitara's BLOG shares her discovery of Manakai Swimwear while obtaining her secondary 200RYT certification in Costa Rica.  Allow us to quote her first reaction, "The intricate designs had me. We'll call it, *love at first sight* ;) But seriously, who doesn't love the fact that these are reversible?!  So essentially, you're receiving two for the price of one! Also, they hold you in as you jump, swim, play and do all the bendy things in them."
